Dallas real estate has a surprisingly positive potential, despite current economical trends. The median house cost for the Dallas area is a lot lower than the US average. According to USA Today, Texas is listed as an expansion state with a rise of 5.2% in home prices last year. Dallas is a city with everything a home buyer could want: Fine dining, elite medical facilities, and highly acclaimed schools. Dallas is a city where there is no shortage of activities, as it boasts four major sports teams to offer exciting exhibition of play on a professional level. Culturally, the city of Dallas is the proud home of dozens of professional and community theaters, several ballet groups, over twenty museums, and over 100 galleries.
Dallas offers a variety of homes for any type of buyer. Whether you are a first time buyer or you are looking to upgrade to a larger home, the Dallas market has a home for you. Dallas homes can range from $75,000 to $17 million, depending on the buyers needs and desires. Realistically, the first time buyer is probably looking for something in the low to mid $100,000’s. The Dallas market offers two to three bedroom homes with one and a half to two baths for this range. Generally, this range will offer a ranch style home, but for an upgrade to a two story, the buyer may be only looking to invest a little more.
If there are children involved, then it will be important to know as much as possible about the school district. There are 229 public schools in the Dallas area for students from pre-kindergarten to grade 12. The Dallas ISD is the 12th largest school district in the nation with over 160,000 students. With over 19,000 employees, the Dallas ISD is one of the largest employees in the municipal region. Change is the standard and education is a priority with a voter-approved $1.37 billion program that will pave the way for 20 new schools and an addition of 1600 classrooms and renovations to already existing schools.
Dallas real estate is an investment for the future, not only for the home buyer, but for children as well. This culturally enhanced city will provide more than enough activities to learn and experience why Dallas is one of the best opportunities in the market. It is easy to see why Dallas was ranked sixth on Forbes list of top ten areas to buy a home.
