The Dallas MLS offers a multitude of homes to search from. You can search resale homes, new construction, condos, townhomes and rental properties. You can also search the surrounding areas for such properties. Homes for sale in Dallas range vastly. You can find a home for tens of thousands of dollars to multi millions dollar luxury homes. With the Dallas MLS everything is literally at your fingertips.
When you search for home you will find that you can search by map, city, county, subdivision and even by school district. You can find homes based on the year they were built by entering the year in a search field. This will help with finding something that no one else has lived in, if that’s your preference. Keep in mind that new construction doesn’t always mean better than a resale home. Sometimes the newer construction is not as sound as a home built a few years earlier.
The MLS helps in many ways, but doesn’t take the place of a Realtor. Let’s say you are buying a new home, so you don’t think you need the services of a Realtor. That’s a misconception. Realtors have experience with these builders and will make sure you are getting your money’s worth. They will also ensure you are getting the complete list of amenities and incentives from the builder. Some builders offer discounted homes to participating Realtors, so don’t cut yourself short. The Realtor knows the ins and outs and also may have been hired by the builder to put their listings in the Dallas MLS. With the current economy they probably need all the help they can get. Ultimately, you will reap the rewards.
Although the economy is a little slower than it used to be, statistics show that Dallas real estate still appreciates at an average of three percent. Forty percent of Dallas Texans own homes compared to fifty two percent that are renting homes. The remaining eight percent are vacant. This is all due to the real estate market holding its own through these rough few years. Many analysts predict that the market will not be back on target for another year or so, but the Dallas market seems to be unaffected. Other parts of the country are suffering. You can see by the MLS system in Dallas that the numbers are still there and going strong.
Do your homework before you jump into something. Let the Dallas MLS work for you. Whether you have a Realtor or not, you should take advantage of every tool offered to you. Dallas offers many homes for sale, so make sure you get the best home for your money.
