Off of Farm Road 2478, eight miles southwest of McKinney in Southwestern Collin County, sits Allen, Texas.  Established in 1870, this city features a park system like no other.  It offers hike and bike trails and greenbelts to its residents.  The city also has a 27-hole public golf course, a large fitness and aquatic center, a recreation center, youth center and extreme sports park, a senior recreation center and a 54,000 square feet public library.  Allen is a perfect place to purchase a home.

As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 43,554. As of April 2008, the city’s population is estimated at 77,965.  Median price asked for vacant for-sale houses and condos in 2007 in this state: $163,760.
