Texas is home to several cities rates the best places to live in America.

Out of 100 ranked cities in Money Magazine's top 100 places to living in America, Frisco came in at 38, Richardson at 18, and Carrolton at 15. In addition, these cities and surround neighborhoods provide a wide variety of living opportunities for the Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) Metroplex, from more recent developments in Plano, Frisco and Allen to older, more established communities in Addison, Carrollton, and Richardson, some of which date back to the late 1800s.

However, many of these established communities have also experienced a spurt of growth in this last decade due to its many attractive features. Just 12 miles north of Dallas on Highway 75, families and young professionals find Richardson an excellent suburban location with larger than average home sizes.
Richardson residents also enjoy events in the arts and entertainment, such as the singer-songwriter gala known as Wildflower. With single family homes in Richardson averaging under $200,000, this convenient suburb is an easier entry point to Dallas living than some of the newer developments north of Dallas.

Some cities are not so lucky to have a highway going through it like Richardson has, but they are lucky to have Dallas' light rail system—Dart. One such city is the well-to-do and ever-popular Plano, which is home to many major corporations' headquarters, so commuting to work might not be an issue for many residents, but when a business-trip to Dallas is on the schedule, Dart offers a stress-free 20-mile transport. On the other hand, the Dallas North Tollway offers other affluent and booming cities like Frisco (with no Dart access) an alternate method of do-it-yourself transport down part of the 30-mile trek to Dallas.

Texas is also home to older neighborhoods that are protected conservation districts because of their historic nature.

Think about the many market forces at play when deciding the right time to buy a house, such as interest rates, government incentives, and purchase prices. These of course, vary over time, but Dallas real estate boasts low interest rates and affordable home prices that make buying a home in this lengthy period of recession a dream come true. In addition, DFWs great school system is a great incentive for family relocation.
