Texas offers some of the best cities in America just north of Dallas.
In addition, the Dallas/Fortworth (DFW) area offers an incredible variety of communities in which to live, from newer neighborhoods (Plano, Frisco, Allen) to older, more established neighborhoods (Addison, Carrollton, Richardson) some of which were founded in the 19th Century. The Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) area boasts some of the fastest growing developments in the nation, such as in Plano and Frisco, while also housing time-honored communities in comfortable suburbs, such as Richardson, Carrolton, and Addison.
But even time-honored cities like Richardson have seen steady growth over the past few years. Just 12 miles north of Dallas on Highway 75, families and young professionals find Richardson an excellent suburban location with larger than average home sizes. Like many great Dallas suburbs, Richardson puts on events to tie the community together, including the yearly singer/songwriter festival, Wildflower, which boasts over 50,000 attendees. With single family homes in Richardson averaging under $200,000, this convenient suburb is an easier entry point to Dallas living than some of the newer developments north of Dallas.
While the highway surrounds Richardson, other popular growing communities, are stops for the Light Rail System, Dart, which connects 13 cities for now, but a major expansion is in the works. One of these is the affluent community of Plano, where many corporations make their headquarters and where Dart transports residents on a 20 mile stress-free commute southbound to downtown Dallas. Other cities have easy access to the Dallas North Tollway, which reaches 36 miles north of Dallas offering residents of Frisco and other cities en route a connection to the hub of DFW.
Texas is also a collection of established neighborhoods of older homes with wide streets and mature trees lining several Historic, Conservation Districts protecting the many old homes and history of the Dallas vicinity.
Think about the many market forces at play when deciding the right time to buy a house, such as interest rates, government incentives, and purchase prices. Thousands of people around the nation are relocating to the Dallas area because each of these factors are strong here. In addition, DFW is well known for a great school system making family relocation to Texas and Dallas in particular a great advantage.
