In addition, the Dallas/Fortworth (DFW) area offers an incredible variety of communities in which to live, from newer neighborhoods (Plano, Frisco, Allen) to older, more established neighborhoods (Addison, Carrollton, Richardson) some of which were founded in the 19th Century.

Even Richardson and other well-established, family-friendly towns, have been attracting a steady growth of new residents. More people have found this city to be a great place to raise a family and young professionals like staying relatively close to the heart of Dallas, while enjoying a larger home with a more suburban feel.
Families and young professionals enjoy living in a Richardson's larger-sized homes and making the more-than-tolerable commute to Dallas just 12 miles south on Highway 75. The otherwise small town feel also boasts a national and ever-popular music event known as Wildflower, among other arts and entertainment events around the community. Homeowners who need to downsize or relocate, choose Richardson and similar neighborhoods because of its affordable housing and easy commute, among other attractive qualities.

Some cities are not so lucky to have a highway going through it like Richardson has, but they are lucky to have Dallas' light rail system—Dart. Dallas is essential, then you can get a lot of reading done on the 20 mile southbound journey. On the other hand, the Dallas North Tollway offers other affluent and booming cities like Frisco (with no Dart access) an alternate method of do-it-yourself transport down part of the 30-mile trek to Dallas.

Texas is also a collection of established neighborhoods of older homes with wide streets and mature trees lining several Historic, Conservation Districts protecting the many old homes and history of the Dallas vicinity.

Think about the many market forces at play when deciding the right time to buy a house, such as interest rates, government incentives, and purchase prices. These three factors draw thousands of people from around the country to DFW every year, even during the long recession period. In addition, DFW is well known for excellent education, providing an incentive to families to relocate.
Another incentive to relocating to DFW, especially for families, is the choice of many excellent schools.
