Would you like to live in or near one of the best cities in America?
In addition, these cities and surround neighborhoods provide a wide variety of living opportunities for the Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) Metroplex, from more recent developments in Plano, Frisco and Allen to older, more established communities in Addison, Carrollton, and Richardson, some of which date back to the late 1800s. In addition, the Dallas/Fortworth (DFW) area offers an incredible variety of communities in which to live, from newer neighborhoods (Plano, Frisco, Allen) to older, more established neighborhoods (Addison, Carrollton, Richardson) some of which were founded in the 19th Century.
However, many of these established communities have also experienced a spurt of growth in this last decade due to its many attractive features. More people have found this city to be a great place to raise a family and young professionals like staying relatively close to the heart of Dallas, while enjoying a larger home with a more suburban feel.
Families and young professionals enjoy living in a Richardson's larger-sized homes and making the more-than-tolerable commute to Dallas just 12 miles south on Highway 75. Like residents of Dallas and other suburbs, residents of Richardson enjoy many arts and entertainment events, such as the popular Wildflower singer/songwriter festival attracting more than 50,000 attendees. With home prices in Richardson averaging under 200,000 and with its affordable rentals, this suburb offers an attractive entry into the community of greater Dallas.
Some cities are not so lucky to have a highway going through it like Richardson has, but they are lucky to have Dallas' light rail system—Dart. For example, luxurious and popular Plano is 20 miles north of Downtown Dallas, but since it is part of the Light Rail System, residents can commute to downtown Dallas in a snap. Other cities, like Frisco, do not boast Dart access, but the well-to-do and fast-growing Frisco is located off of the Dallas North Tollway offering a viable means of getting to Dallas (some 30 miles south) if necessary.
DFW is also home to many historic neighborhoods that are protected as such, boasting with wide streets lined with beautifully aged trees and a rich heritage.
If you are wondering when you should buy your home, look into the current market forces, such as government incentives, market value of homes, and interest rates. All of these economic factors vary with time, but Dallas has stayed strong, attracting steady growth because of its affordable pricing and low interest rates throughout the area. In addition to a healthy local economy, DFW boasts a great school system and smaller number of risky mortgages making it one of the strongest real estate markets in the country.
